2008 Singapore Grand Prix: Alonso tops final free practice
In the third and final free practice session for Sunday’s Singapore Grand Prix, Renault’s Fernando Alonso clocked again the fastest time. The Spaniard was able to clock a 1:44.506, 0.613 seconds faster than his former teammate at McLaren Mercedes Lewis Hamilton (1:45.119). The Briton was closely followed by Ferrari’s Felipe Massa (1:45.246), Renault’s Nelson Piquet jr (1:45.249), Williams’ Nico Rosberg (1:45.386), Honda’s Jenson Button (1:45.409) and BMW’s Robert Kubica (1:45.425).
Only 17th place for reigning world champion Kimi Raikkonen who after having locked up his wheels and gone off-track at Turn 7, had to end his session 15 minutes earlier.
The drivers will be back on track in about an hour and a half for the Qualifying session.
