2008 Japanese Grand Prix, 1st free practice: Lewis Hamilton fastest

Lewis HamiltonMcLaren’s Lewis Hamilton topped the timesheets in the first free practice session for the 2008 Japanese Grand Prix. The Briton completed 23 laps with his best in a time of 1:18.910, 0.153 seconds faster than his main championship rival Felipe Massa (1:19.063). Third time for Heikki Kovalainen (1:19.279), fourth for Kimi Raikkonen (1:19.399), fifth for Fernando Alonso (1:19.473), sixth for Nelson Piquet jr (1:19.743) and seventh for Sebastian Vettel (1:20.121).
