Vitantonio Liuzzi ex Toro RossoVitantonio Liuzzi’s manager Peter Collins says the Italian driver is aiming to stay in Formula One next season following his exit from Toro Rosso. Liuzzi was left without a racing seat at the Italian squad after it was announced that Sebastian Vettel and Sebastien Bourdais would race for them in 2008.

“Tonio is definitely concentrating on staying in F1 and we are looking carefully what happens in two teams,” said Collins, who was also critical of Toro Rosso. When we approached other teams we realized that Tonio’s reputation was everywhere better than within STR. Other teams realise his potential better than his current team,” he said.

Collins admitted his driver was relieved that the deal with Bourdais was finally confirmed after months of speculation, despite meaning that Liuzzi was out of a drive for next year. “We are relieved this is done now and there is a clearer picture,” Collins added.
