Fernando AlonsoHonda Racing is dreaming to have Fernando Alonso‘s services in 2009. But this was already known: Honda’s Team Principal, Ross Brawn, oversees for the Spaniard for quite some time. What it wasn’t known yet and now the British newspaper The Guardian reports, is that Honda Racing would be willing to offer to the double World Champion 15 million dollars for a year.

According to the newspaper, Fernando Alonso would be ready to sign a one-year deal with Ross Brawn‘s team, to team up with Jenson Button. Then, in 2010, he would move to Ferrari, since Kimi Raikkonen‘s contract with the Maranello team expires at the end of 2009. The Guardian, also claims that the Spaniard’s main reason to leave the French team and switch to Honda would be Ross Brawn‘s presence, former Ferrari team principal during Michael Schumacher‘s golden years.

For his part, Alonso has already hinted that next year would be the right time to move to another team since the new technical regulations will change significantly the single-seaters and all drivers and teams will be more or less at the same level.

The newspaper also suggests that the Spaniard could race for Honda even for two seasons postponing his switch to Ferrari, team that remains his primary objective.
