Bridgestone white grooveStarting from next season, Formula One will see the reintroduction of slick type tyres which will replace the currently used grooved dry tyres. However, F1′s official tyre supplier, Bridgestone Motorsport, will have to come up with an alternative way of distinguishing visually the soft and hard compounds during the races.

According to reports, the current white painted groove on the grooved type tyres will be replaced by painting the tyre sidewalls on the slick type tyres. Such idea, along with other proposals, including one that suggests to use different colors than white, will be tested prior to the beginning of the 2009 season.
