Fernando Alonso and Norbert HaugAccording to Spanish daily sports newspaper Diario As, Fernando Alonso would have received an offer for a year from his former team, McLaren. Diario As, says also that in order to accept such offer, the Spaniard demands a sort of a written promise that he would be able to run different strategies than Hamilton. For now, McLaren-Mercedes denied such rumors.

The Spanish newspaper reports that Ron Dennis’ team, team that would have received criticisms and pressures from its technicians and its Spanish sponsors for excluding the double World Champion, would assure to the Spaniard exactly the same economical conditions of his previous contract, but Fernando would also want a series of written promises, such as the permission to run a different race strategy than Hamilton and that there won’t be favoritisms over the Briton. However what freezes the negotiations is Ron Dennis’ presence in the Woking-based team: Fernando Alonso no longer wants to work with him. So, Diario As, believes that the most likely destinations for the Spaniard remain Red Bull, Toyota and Renault.

In the meantime, a McLaren spokesman, denied categorically such speculations.
