R28 Back ViewA Dutch website suggested last week that Renault was testing and planning to use in this season opener Grand Prix in Melbourne, a new rear wing (called “W” wing due to its shape) that would be able to lower lap times about half a second. The website has reported also that this new solution wouldn’t be tested before Melbourne, to prevent other teams to “steal” the idea.

But today, a spokesman for ING Renault has dismissed categorically such rumors through Spanish newspaper Marca. However, Marca has claimed that the “W” wing rumors would’ve born following a couple of faked photos published on the Internet.

Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso, has confirmed to EFE (a Spanish news agency) that his team “is not planning to present anything revolutionary” for the R28 except for a couple of improvements on the front of the car.
