Michael Schumacher to race at Misano Circuit on Sunday

Michael Schumacher DucatiSeven-time Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher showed up yesterday morning at Misano Circuit in Italy and surprised everyone by practising with a KTM bike in preparation for the first race of the season. The German, will ride a KTM bike in today’s qualifying session and will race on Sunday.

The Italian Circuit, which hosts also Superbike’s and MotoGP’s San Marino Grand Prix, is hosting this weekend the first race of Mototemporada Romagnola 2008 and the National Termorace Cup, Fmi 250 GP, as well as three Honda Cup classes and the KTM race.

The former Ferrari driver, arrived in Rimini in a private jet and drove to Misano in a Maserati. He took the track for the first leg of free practice around afternoon. “I am here to have fun,” said the German. “And I’m just trying to familiarize myself with the track and the layout. I hope the weather improves so that it can be even more fun.”
