Magny Cours 2007 Nick Heidfeld replaced by Sebastian Vettel?Nick Heidfeld could be replaced by Sebastian Vettel (Kubica’s replacement in Indianapolis) for Saturday’s Qualifiers and Sunday’s race that will take place in Magny Cours.

Heidfeld, during Silverstone’s tests, had an injury in his back; after today’s free practice, the German driver aggravated that injury and he was forced to miss the last 40 minutes of the session. As a precaution, he was taken to a local hospital in order to assess the injury. So far, it’s not clear if he will be able to race.

That’s why, BMW could replace Heidfeld with the young 19yr old German driver Sebastian Vettel. Vettel was previously Kubica’s replacement in Indianapolis GP, where he conquered a prestigious 8th place.

BMW is required to inform the stewards of its intention to bench Heidfeld by Friday evening and an announcement is expected shortly.
