Lewis HamiltonMcLaren-Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton has won for the first time in his Formula 1 career, the 2008 Monaco Grand Prix. The race was mainly affected by the wet track conditions and was full of mistakes and crashes. The Briton was followed by BMW’s Robert Kubica (P2) and Ferrari’s Felipe Massa (P3). Drive through penalties, driver mistakes and wrong Team decisions ruined Scuderia Ferrari’s race, as both drivers failed to keep their qualifying one-two.

2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen had a drive through penalty as the team failed to ‘fully fit’ the tyres on his car within the three minutes signal during the race start procedure. Additionally, 10 minutes before the end of the race the Finn lost control of the car at the exit of the tunnel and crashed onto Force India’s Adrian Sutil back ruining the German’s outstanding performance, at the time on P4.

Mark Webber, once again got points by finishing on P4 followed by Sebastian Vettel, who with Toro Rosso’s new car (STR3) finished on P5; the young German climbed 14 positions during the race. Honda’s Rubens Barrichello finished on P6, followed by Kazuki Nakajima (P7) and Heikki Kovalainen (P8).
