pit laneFollowing today’s pitlane incident at the Canadian Grand Prix, the race officials have penalised McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton and Williams’ Nico Rosberg with a 10-place grid penalty for the French Grand Prix at Magny Cours circuit scheduled for 20, 21 and 22 June. Both drivers, after their first pit stop during a Safety Car period, didn’t notice in time that the red light at pit exit was on.

Hamilton ended hitting Raikkonen’s F2008, who was waiting for the green light and both of them were forced to retire from the race.

Nico Rosberg, braked too late and hit Hamilton’s MP4-23. The young German however was able to continue in the race as he had damaged only his front wing.
