Lewis Hamilton escapes again penaltyDuring the testing session at Barcelona in Spain, McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton and his team received insults by a couple of Spanish fans; according to local newspaper Marca some of these insults had even a racial element. In an attempt to control and respond to this situation, Circuit de Catalunya officials decided to put up fences around the McLaren area in the paddock and to remove all abusive banners from the grandstands.

The FIA declared on this matter that any racial abuse will not be tolerated and in the event that this situation gets repeated in the future, sanctions will be taken. “The FIA is surprised and disappointed at the abuse directed at Lewis Hamilton. Abuse of this kind is a clear breach of the principles enshrined in the FIA statutes and any repetition will result in serious sanctions”, a FIA spokesman was quoted saying to autosport.
