FIA: Pirelli selected as single tyre supplier for F1

Following a meeting of the World Motor Sport Council today in Geneve, F1′s governing body, the FIA, announced that Italian tyre manufacturer Pirelli will become Formula One’s sole tyre supplier from the start of the 2011 season.
“Pirelli has been selected as the single tyre supplier for the FIA Formula One World Championship for a period of three years, commencing in 2011.
The sole supplier will undertake to strictly respect the sporting and technical regulations implemented by the FIA,” read an FIA statement.
