Jerez test, Day 4: Heikki Kovalainen on top

Ferrari shark finMcLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen has ended the four day testing session at Jerez in Spain on top of the timesheets. The Finn, who evaluated on his MP4-23 two nose horn wings – much like the ones already tested by Honda Racing – covered 116 laps with his best in a time of 1:18.385. Second fastest time for Toro Rosso’s Sebastien Bourdais (1:18.746, 113 laps) ahead of Red Bull’s David Coulthard (1:19.494, 93 laps) and Renault’s test driver Romain Grosjean (1:19.561, 90 laps).

Fifth time for Ferrari’s Felipe Massa (1:19.611, 92 laps) who was able to evaluate the already known shark fin engine cover in the afternoon. The Brazilian was followed by Williams’ Kazuki Nakajima (1:19.724, 100 laps), BMW’s Nick Heidfeld (1:19.915, 99 laps), Force India’s Adrian Sutil (1:19.965, 72 laps), Honda’s Jenson Button (1:20.532, 98 laps) and Toyota’s test driver Kamui Kobayashi (1:20.878, 90 laps).
