BMW Sauber pit stopAccording to rumors from the Monaco Grand Prix paddock, Scuderia Ferrari would have been so impressed by BMW Sauber‘s pit stop speed this season that the Maranello team would have commissioned Italian public broadcaster RAI and Sky Italy to tape secretly BMW’s mechanics during the Paul Ricard test session last week.

“If Ferrari sees us as a benchmark, we take that as a compliment,” BMW’s boss Mario Theissen commented.

“We are very proud of our fast guys,” BMW’s Team Manager Beat Zehnder told the Blick newspaper. “However, it would be prohibited to film other teams. Those who want to film, must be in agreement with F1′s commercial rights holder, Bernie Ecclestone.”
