Fernando AlonsoDouble world champion Fernando Alonso will not take part in the Monaco qualifying session.

The Spaniard damaged heavily his car earlier this morning during Practice 3 when he crashed into the barriers at Turn 3. The F10 sustained damage to the suspension but also to the chassis, and replacing the latter will require at least four hours.

“Fernando Alonso will not take part in qualifying. The damage to his car, which resulted from his accident in the early part of Free Practice 3 is not repairable and therefore the chassis has to be changed; a job that requires at least four hours to complete. Fernando, who was fastest on Thursday, will therefore not be able to take part in qualifying,” read a Ferrari notice.
