British GP, 2nd Free Practice Session: Raikkonen’s revenge

Kimi Raikkonen quickest British Grand Prix at Silverstone 2007 Free PracticeAfter having disputed, this morning, a good free practice session, Lewis Hamilton had to step over Raikkonen’s excellent lap times in this afternoon’s 2nd Session. Kimi managed to race with a lap time under 1’21”. Right behind him, Hamilton’s McLaren and in third place Felipe Massa’s Ferrari. Bad session for Alonso. In the meantime, David Coulthard renewed his contract with Red Bull for next year .


Silverstone, July 6th 2007 – Kimi Raikkonen with his Ferrari was the quickest driver on track during todays’ free practice session for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

The Lap Times – Raikkonen’s best lap time was 1’20”639, preceding over almost half second Hamilton’s time, registered this morning (1’21”100). Felipe Massa finished with 1’21”138; an excellent lap time, only 0,038 seconds slower than Lewis. Surprisingly, the Toyota were really fast; Ralf Schumacher placed in fourth position with 1’21”381 and Jarno Trulli in fifth with 1’21’467. Disappointing 6th place for Fernando Alonso showing more driving errors than lap times: Spanish’s driver best lap time was 1’21”616. On 7th and 8th place, Nico Rosberg and Alex Wurz with their Williams, on 9th Kubica’s BMW and on 10th Mark Webber’s Red Bull. Red Bull, that today, officially announced that David Coulthard renewed his contract for next year.
