Mario Theissen and Willy RampfJust a few hours before the first free practice of 2008, new speculations are arising. According to Auto Motor und Sport, during the recent test session at Valencia, the BMW-Sauber F1 team would have intentionally omitted to report Heidfeld’s and Kubica’s qualifying simulation best lap times, given the fact they were quicker than Heikki Kovalainen’s best time set at the end of January.

In the meantime Blick, a Swiss newspaper, asked to BMW’s Willy Rampf if the team sandbagged and concealed in winter tests. Suprisingly, Rampf replied with a ‘no comment’ before stating ‘we will see’ when asked if the F1.08 might seek the pole on Saturday.
