BMW SauberBMW’s Nick Heidfeld has played down suggestions that the Hinwil based team could fight for the title in 2008. While BMW-Sauber managed to finish on the podium in both Australian and Malaysian Grand Prix, the 30-year-old German has suggested to the SID news agency that his team is still not on the level of Ferrari or McLaren: “Taking one step after the other has worked for us so far,” said Heidfeld referring to BMW’s steady progress. “Our goal for the current season remains unchanged. We want to be in the fight for the world championship in 2009. Whoever is in the championship battle must be in a position to win races regularly. We have not arrived there yet”.
