2009 Monaco GP: Fernando Alonso tops final practice

Double world champion Fernando Alonso has climbed on top of the timesheets in the final free practice for Sunday’s 2009 Monaco Grand Prix. The Spaniard completed 24 laps, the quickest in 1:15.164 beating by 0.069 seconds championship leader Jenson Button (1:15.233).

Third time for McLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen (1:15.278) ahead of Brawn Gp’s Rubens Barrichello (1:15.286), Ferrari duo with Felipe Massa (1:15.293) quicker than Kimi Raikkonen (1:15.382), McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton (1:15.389), Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel (1:15.722) and Williams’ Nico Rosberg (1:15.758).

The drivers will be back on the Monte Carlo track in about 30 minutes for the qualifying session.
