Jenson Button, Brawn GPChampionship leader Jenson Button grabbed for the fourth time in this season the pole position for Sunday’s Monaco Grand Prix. The Briton clocked a 1:14.902 in the last seconds of Q3, beating by 0.025 seconds Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen (1:14.927) and team-mate Rubens Barrichello (1:15.077).

Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel ended up fourth (1:15.271) ahead of Ferrari’s Felipe Massa (1:15.437), Williams’ Nico Rosberg (1:15.455), McLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen (1:15.516), Red Bull’s Mark Webber (1:15.653), Renault’s Fernando Alonso (1:16.009) and Williams’ Kazuki Nakajima (1:17.344).

Force India duo have finally made it to qualify to Q2, with Giancarlo Fisichella taking the 13th spot in the grid while Adrian Sutil the 15th.

A big surprise came early in the session from reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton. While on his fifth lap in Q1, the Briton spun into the barriers at the Mirabeau turn, damaging the MP4-24′s rear left suspension and causing a red flag. Hamilton should have started the race from the 16th spot but following the team’s decision to change the gearbox ahead of the race, he will be handed a 10-place grid penalty so he will start from the back of the grid.

Both BMW Saubers and both Toyotas were knocked out in Q1. Nick Heidfeld ended 17th, Robert Kubica 18th, Jarno Trulli 19th and Timo Glock 20th.
