2009 Bahrain GP: Hamilton fastest in first practice

McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton has topped the timesheets in the first free practice for Sunday’s Bahraini Grand Prix. The Briton completed 19 laps, the fastest in 1:33.647, 0.260 seconds quicker than BMW’s Nick Heidfeld (1:33.907).
Third fastest time for BMW’s Robert Kubica (1:33.938) ahead of Williams’ Nico Rosberg (1:34.227), Brawn GP’s Jenson Button (1:34.434), McLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen (1:34.502), Brawn Gp’s Rubens Barrichello (1:34.531) and Ferrari’s Felipe Massa (1:34.589).
Renault’s Fernando Alonso ended only 18th fastest (1:35.348) followed by the Toro Rosso duo with Sebastien Bourdais beating team mate Sebastien Buemi.
