Nick HeidfeldBMW’s German driver Nick Heidfeld has been penalised with a three-place grid penalty following an incident during Q1 in today’s qualifying session. The stewards have ruled that Heidfeld, who had slowed down in order to enter the pitlane, had blocked Rubens Barrichello‘s flying lap forcing the Brazilian to abort his attempt.

The BMW driver qualified sixth but with the penalty applied will have to start the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix from the ninth spot in tomorrow’s grid.
