Webber grabs Spanish Grand Prix pole, Vettel P2
Hamilton third, Alonso fourth
Red Bull Racing has dominated the qualifying session for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix by locking again the front row with Mark Webber on pole position ahead of team-mate Sebastian Vettel.
The Australian clocked a best time of 1:19.995 while the German a 1:20.101.
McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton secured the third place on the grid (1:20.829), ahead of local hero Fernando Alonso (1:20.937), team-mate Jenson Button (1:20.991), Mercedes GP’s Michael Schumacher (1:21.294), Renault’s Robert Kubica (1:21.353), Ferrari’s Felipe Massa (1:21.585) and Sauber’s Kamui Kobayashi (1:21.984).
Force India’s Adrian Sutil ended up 11th and was followed by Sauber’s Pedro de la Rosa, Williams’ Nico Hulkenberg and Renault’s Vitaly Petrov. The Russian finished 14th fastest but he will be demoted five places on the grid after a gearbox change penalty just before qualifying.
