Kimi RaikkonenToyota motorsport president John Howett revealed on Sunday that Toyota F1 has placed an offer to Kimi Raikkonen for a race seat in the 2010 season.

“We don’t play too many games. We put on the table what we can afford and what we think is a serious offer in the current market. I think genuinely we could work well with him, give him a car that’s quick”, Howett was quoted as saying after Sunday’s Brazilian Grand Prix.

Raikkonen will be replaced at Ferrari at the end of the season by double world champion Fernando Alonso.

The Finn has already made clear that he wants a competitive car. This may count against the Japanese team which has yet to win a race since their debut in Formula 1 back in 2002.
