Third consecutive pole position for Webber in Turkey

Mark WebberChampionship leader Mark Webber has secured his third consecutive pole position – the fourth in the season – at Istanbul ahead of McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton.

The Australian clocked a best time of 1:26.295, beating by 0.138 seconds the Briton (1:26.433) and by 0.465 team-mate Sebastian Vettel (1:26.760).

Reigning world champion Jenson Button qualified fourth (1:26.781) ahead of seven time world champion Michael Schumacher (1:26.857), Mercedes GP’s Nico Rosberg (1:26.952), Renault’s Robert Kubica (1:27.039), Ferrari’s Felipe Massa (1:27.082), Renault’s Vitaly Petrov (1:27.430) and Sauber’s Kamui Kobayashi (1:28.122).

Force India’s Adrian Sutil finished 11th and was followed by Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso who got knocked out in Q2, Sauber’s Pedro de la Rosa, Toro Rosso’s Sebastien Buemi, Williams Rubens Barrichello, Toro Rosso’s Jaime Alguersuari, Williams’ Nico Hulkenberg and Force India’s Tonio Liuzzi.

Again, Lotus Racing proved the best among the new teams with Jarno Trulli in 19th and Heikki Kovalainen in 20th.
