Super Aguri: new deal with Magma Group?

Super Aguri F1 TeamRumors from Barcelona’s paddock are suggesting that Super Aguri would be close to sign a new deal with Magma Group. The negotiations for Super Aguri’s acquisition with the Dubai-funded company might have resumed but remains unclear whether Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson will be able to race this weekend in Barcelona.

Honda Racing, the company that provides Aguri Suzuki’s team chassis, engine and technical support, is demanding that a new deal is signed before giving the green light to the SA08′s.

UPDATE: Earlier this afternoon, Super Aguri’s Team Principal, Aguri Suzuki issued the following statement:

“Further to the statement issued by Super Aguri F1 Team on Wednesday 16th April 2008 we advise that discussions regarding investment are on going, however, due to legal conditions, we are unable to expand on, allude to or provide further details regarding this confidential matter at present.”

“We would like to thank our Team partners, suppliers, our fans and colleagues in the media for their continuing patience and support, and we look forward to our weekend at the Barcelona Grand Prix.”
