Super Aguri: Magma Group deal, called off

Super AguriAguri Suzuki, Super Aguri Team Principal, has confirmed this afternoon that the deal with Magma Group announced on March has been called off. The Magma Group has informed the Japanese outfit today that its investors ‘no longer wish to fund the intended acquisition’. The following is a statement issued by Suzuki:

“Super Aguri F1 Team confirms that it has been informed by Magma Group, the potential purchasers of the team, that its investors no longer wish to fund the intended acquisition.”

“It is with deep regret that Aguri Suzuki is now forced to consider the future of the team, however negotiations with other parties continue.”

Super Aguri already had to miss this week’s test in Barcelona. With the deal now being called off, it’s unclear if the team will race in the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix on April 27th.
