Barcelona testing Day 3 – April 16th, 2008: Fernando Alonso fastest on slicks
Day 3 of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya has just ended and the fastest man on track was double World Champion Fernando Alonso with a best lap time of 1:18.483. The Spaniard was followed by seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher (1:19.323) who got back at the wheel of an F2008 and Force India’s Adrian Sutil (1:19.424).
Unfortunate track debut for Toro Rosso’s STR3 as Sebastien Bourdais crashed heavily in the afternoon. The Frenchman got off the track at Turn 9 and struck the barrier with the left side of the car. Given the damage to the STR3, its believed that Sebastian Vettel will not be able to test the new car tomorrow.
Testing will continue tomorrow.
