Fernando Alonso and Pedro De la RosaAccording to German car magazine Auto, Motor und Sport, the Spanish driver had been informed months ago that Mike Coughlan, former McLaren Chief Designer, was in possession of confidential Ferrari documents and blueprints; these informations were given to Alonso from Pedro De la Rosa by email. The new evidence that the FIA is claiming to have, would be exactly these.

Both Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Spanish drivers, Fernando Alonso and Pedro De la Rosa, could be deeply involved in McLaren-Ferrari spy story. The German car magazine Auto, Motor und Sport, believes that Pedro de la Rosa was in knowledge of the inside Ferrari documents that Mike Coughlan, former McLaren Chief Designer, had in possession; given that, De la Rosa, would have informed with an email his teammate and two times World Champion Fernando Alonso, right after the beginning of this year’s season. According to the German magazine, these emails sent from De la Rosa to Alonso, would be the new elements that forced the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) to reconvene the World Moto Sport Council for a hearing in Paris on September 13th, instead of the programmed Appeal Court.

Rumors are saying that De la Rosa, McLaren test driver, would have received at the beginning of this year all 780 pages of Ferrari confidential information from Mike Coughlan. The Spanish would then have informed Alonso by email of these documents. If confirmed, these rumors could tangle Ron Dennis and McLaren’s defense, because they would prove that more people inside the team were in knowledge of the stolen Ferrari documents. Furthermore, Auto Motor und Sport, believes that Alonso, right when his relationship with McLaren had begun to come loose, would have thought to use these informations in order to indict the team to the FIA, forcing to break his contract.
