Belgian Grand Prix Qualifiers: Front row for Ferrari !

Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen one-two at Magny-Cours French Grand Prix 2007For the first time this season the front row is occupied by the two Ferraris: Raikkonen 1st with 1.45.994 in front of his Brazilian teammate. Third position taken by Alonso, and 4th for Hamilton. Although Kubica finished 5th, loses 10 position due to engine substitution.


SPA, 15th Sept 2007 – Kimi Raikkonen takes over the pole position for tomorrows Belgian Grand Prix. Right after him, Felipe Massa, followed by the two McLaren. Kubica made the 5th best lap time but will have to start from the 15th position due to an engine brake. The other 5 that compose the top 10 are: Rosberg (Williams), Heidfeld (BMW), Webber (Red Bull), Trulli (Toyota) and Kovalainen (Renault).

Absolute Balance – It was clear right after the beginning of Q1 that the qualifications would be very balanced. Ferrari and McLaren had similar lap times with Alonso and Massa dueling for the best lap time.
Tires make the difference in Q2, when Raikkonen manages to bring the best lap a second down.
Q3 starts with a great surpass of Massa on Hamilton. Right after that, Alonso finishes out and has to go back in the pits to change rubbers. Massa holds the pole position, but Raikkonen on his last lap manages to take first place with 1.45.994, being the only to go under 1.46.00.
