Bridgestone Motorsport slick tiresAccording to reports, during the next tests at Jerez, Bridgestone Motorsport will supply sets of slick tires to the teams in order to be tested. Earlier this year, the Federation International de l’Automobile, announced that the reintroduction of slick tires initially planned for 2008 - slicks that were previously banned at the end of 1997 - will be delayed. However, the Dutch magazine Formule 1 Race Report…

states that all Formula One teams will have several sets of slicks to test at Jerez next month, ahead of a possible reintroduction of the tires in 2009. The magazine, is quoting a BMW-Sauber spokesman, and the concordance of the Red Bull teams and Honda, in order to confirm such news. The slicks that will be tested at Jerez will probably be based on the slick tire compound currently produced by Bridgestone for the GP2 Series.
