Renault: Piquet has three races to improve

Nelson Piquet, Monaco GPAccording to rumors after Monte Carlo’s race, Renault Team Principal Flavio Briatore has given three more chances to Nelson Piquet jr. to improve his performance before a replacement driver comes into play. The Swiss publication Motorsport Aktuell has reported that the scheduled test session following the Canadian Grand Prix, originally programmed for Alonso, will be handled by Piquet to test the R28 for three days.

Briatore, however, after the Monaco Grand Prix has backed Piquet’s poor performance in the streets of the Principality. “Nelson’s race was disappointing, but Monaco remains a difficult test for a driver and it is a very unusual circuit,” he said.
