Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio BriatoreFollowing the point penalty in the Constructors Championship received by the FIA for the “spy story”, this season McLaren-Mercedes should have occupied the last pit area in the pitlane. But this might not be the case.

The Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat, reported this morning that Formula One Management Chief, Bernie Ecclestone, has ordered a reordering in contrast with the usual arrangement based on last year’s standings, so that the Woking-based team can still have access to the more adequate and wider facilities in the pitlane.

The newsapaper wrote that Ecclestone would have requested the 3rd pit area but Renault would have objected as the French team had officially the 3rd place last year. At the moment, McLaren-Mercedes hasn’t commented such report.
