Mario Theissen and Willy RampfAt the next meeting of Formula One’s Technical Working Group (TWG), the F1 teams will discuss the recent issues emerged with the development of the KERS system, set to be introduced starting from 2009 season. The Red Bull incident at the Milton Keynes factory where a battery failure on the KERS forced everyone to evacuate the building and Tuesday’s incident at Jerez with a BMW Sauber mechanic hit by a violent electric shock, have originated concerns on these early KERS prototypes.

“First of all we need to understand exactly what has happened,” said Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Stefano Domenicali. “I think that is something which will be discussed at the next Technical Working Group,” he continued.

“We don’t have to over-react to anything at the moment because of course it’s a new project, we need to take care of all the safety aspects and all the other things.”
