Heikki KovalainenFormula One’s governing body, the FIA, has decided to investigate why took several minutes to the circuit doctors to reach the unconscious Kovalainen following his scary crash at the Spanish Grand Prix. “If you are unconscious and perhaps not breathing you don’t have more than two or three minutes before you get some kind of significant damage. So, that’s going to have to be looked into,” Dr. Stephen Olvey, member of FIA Safety Division, told to Associated Press news agency.

Meanwhile, a confirmation of such investigation came through an FIA official who stated: “It’s too early to comment on the incident other than to confirm that the FIA’s safety experts have already begun a very detailed analysis of accident data”.
