FIA International Court of AppealThe FIA will announce this afternoon the decision of the International Court of Appeal hearing in regards to Brawn GP‘s, Williams‘ and Toyota‘s rear diffuser design.

Following Tuesday’s eight hour hearing in Paris, the judges of the FIA Court will publish their verdict. According to unconfirmed reports, the decision may not favour the teams (Ferrari, Red Bull, Renault and BMW Sauber) that lodged protests against the ‘diffuser gang’.

Five members of the panel of the judges – Guido De Marco, Pierre Tourigny, Philippe Robert De Winghe, Harry Duijm and John Cassidy – heard on Tuesday Brawn GP’s, Williams’ and Toyota’s arguments in defense of the controversial diffusers and Red Bull’s, Ferrari’s, Renault’s and BMW’s arguments who had appealed against the Australian and Malaysian Grand Prix stewards’ decision to give the cars the green light.

In a few hours we will know if the standings of the Drivers’ Championship will have to be revised or if Brawn GP’s Jenson Button will be the man to beat for the 2009 Formula One world championship.

Update: FIA declares diffusers legal
