Ferrari dominates 2008 French Grand Prix
Ferrari’s Felipe Massa has taken his third seasonal win by winning the 2008 French Grand Prix, moving up at the same time on top of this year’s Drivers’ Championship standings. The Brazilian, has benefited from an exhaust problem on Kimi Raikkonen‘s F2008 occurred half through the race, who however was able to finish second. Third place for an excellent Jarno Trulli who resisted the long pressure from Heikki Kovalainen, especially on the final laps. The Finn finished fourth, ahead of BMW’s Robert Kubica, fifth.
Mark Webber scored once again points for the Red Bull Racing team by finishing sixth and was followed by Renault’s duo with Nelson Piquet jr. (P7) ahead of double world champion Fernando Alonso (P8). The Spaniard, just two laps before the end of the race, went slightly wide while trying to pass Mark Webber and lost P7 to his team mate. David Coulthard P9 and Lewis Hamilton P10 round up the top ten. The Briton, who took the start from P13 after Montreal’s 10 place grid penalty, was hit with another penalty for having gained an advantage during lap 1 when he cut the Nurburgring chicane while passing Toro Rosso’s Sebastian Vettel.
