BMW SauberAfter working for two days on F1.08′s configuration for the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix the BMW Sauber F1 Team on the last day planned to work on the setup with regards to the Canadian Grand Prix. Using a long version of the Paul Ricard circuit Nick Heidfeld in the early morning had the chance to evaluate different solutions for a medium downforce configuration of the F1.08. When the rain set in the team also took the chance to test the car on a wet race setup and performed several system checks.

Minutes before the lunch break Heidfeld had a minor off. The car sustained some damage to the bodywork and to the left front and rear suspension. The mechanics had the car repaired and ready for the afternoon session. But due to heavy rain the team decided not to put the car on the track again.

Despite today’s bad weather three day test in Le Castellet overall was a successful one for the BMW Sauber F1 Team. Covering a total of 1,098 km the team had the chance to evaluate a number of new parts aimed to increase the performance of the F1.08 car in Monaco as well as in Canada.

The team is now looking forward to the Monaco Grand Prix scheduled for May 25th on the streets of Monte Carlo.
