Jerez, winter test – December 10th, 2008: Sebastien Buemi still fastest
On Day 2 of testing at the Jerez circuit in Spain, Sebastien Buemi clocked again the fastest time at the wheel of a Toro Rosso STR3. The young Swiss completed 128 laps, the fastest in a time of 1:18.073. Second fastest time for Takuma Sato (Toro Rosso) ahead of McLaren-Mercedes’ test driver Pedro de la Rosa (1:18.673, 81 laps), who evaluated today a revised MP4-23 featuring an all new 2009-spec front wing and a 2008-like rear one.
The Spaniard was followed by Toro Rosso’s Sebastien Bourdais (1:19.032, 78 laps), Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen (1:19.334, 89 laps) and teammate Heikki Kovalaianen (1:19.631, 64 laps), who tested McLaren’s MP4-23K, the car used for KERS testing.
Seventh time for Renault’s Fernando Alonso (1:19.907, 106 laps), eighth for Williams’ Nico Rosberg (1:20.309, 122 laps), ninth for BMW’s Nick Heidfeld (1:20.365, 87 laps), tenth for Ferrari’s Felipe Massa (1:20.490, 27 laps) and eleventh for BMW’s Robert Kubica (1:20.954, 38 laps).
