2008 British GP, 1st free practice: Felipe Massa fastest

Felipe MassaThe 1st free practice session for the British Grand Prix took place this morning at the Silverstone circuit and as usual, Ferrari’s Felipe Massa was the fastest man on track. The Brazilian, who also had a heavy crash following an oil spot dropped by Alonso’s R28, set a best time of 1:19.575. Massa was followed by Heikki Kovalainen (1:19.587), Lewis Hamilton (1:19.623) and Kimi Raikkonen (1:19.948) rounding up the top four. BMW’s Robert Kubica finished fifth (1:20.367) while Fernando Alonso sixth (1:20.436).
