Williams back in Spain for final winter tests
The Williams F1 Team team returned at Circuit de Catalunya’s track today for the final winter test just a couple of weeks before Melbourne’s season opener Grand Prix. Nico Rosberg and Kazuki Nakajima, were in the cockpits of the two FW30s to continue preparations. More rain in Spain, however, limited the team’s morning running and caused a number of red flags before lunch.
A drier afternoon afforded the pair valuable mileage and allowed Kazuki to carry out set-up work and Nico complete a race distance. Clocking up over 500 kilometres of the 4.655km track, Nico set the sixth quickest time of the day while Kazuki was just pipped by the two McLarens and Schumacher’s Ferrari to close the day with the fourth fastest time.
Dickie Stanford, Test Team Manager: “This morning’s rain hampered Kazuki’s running somewhat but drier conditions in the afternoon allowed him to do some set-up work. Meanwhile, Nico focussed on engine system checks and successfully completed a race run towards the end of the day.”
