Vettel snatches Malaysian GP pole position 

Hamilton second, Webber third.

Vettel, Australia 2011Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel has grabbed his second pole position in the 2011 season ahead of Sunday’s Grand Prix in Malaysia.

The German clocked a best time of 1:34.870 in his last attempt, beating by just 0.104 seconds McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton (1:34.974).

Mark Webber clocked up the third fastest time (1:35.179) ahead of McLaren’s Jenson Button (1:35.200), Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso (1:35.802), Lotus Renault GP’s Nick Heidfeld (1:36.124) and Ferrari’s Felipe Massa (1:36.251).

Vitaly Petrov (1:36.324) qualified 8th in the other Lotus Renault R31 and was followed by Mercedes GP’s Nico Rosberg (1:36.809) and Sauber’s Kamui Kobayashi (1:36.820).

Seven time world champion Michael Schumacher failed for the second consecutive time to enter Q3 by qualifying 11th ahead of Toro Rosso’s Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari, Force India’s Paul di Resta, William’s Rubens Barrichello, Sauber’s Sergio Perez, Force India’s Adrian Sutil and Williams’s Pastor Maldonado.

19th and 20th time for Team Lotus drivers Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli ahead of Virgin’s Timo Glock and Jerome D’Ambrosio.

23rd and 24th time for HRT’s Tonio Liuzzi and Narain Karthikeyan who got past the 107 percent blocking rule this time and will race tomorrow.
