Santander supporting McLaren-Mercedes

Santander Financial Institute McLaren Mercedes SponsorSpanish Financial Institute Grupo Santander has expressed its support for the McLaren team following the penalty imposed on the British team by the FIA. The team were stripped of all their constructors’ championship points and fined $100 million over the possession of Ferrari leaked data.

Santander, who have a five-year deal with McLaren and pay the racing team 13 million euros ($18 million) per year, said on earlier that they fully supported the team. “We are totally convinced of the personal integrity of Ron Dennis and that of the McLaren team which has over the years shown a high level of professionalism and corporate ethics,” Santander director-general Juan Manuel Cendoya told Reuters.
