Ron Dennis to retire if McLaren wins 2008 title?
According to German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, McLaren-Mercedes Team Principal Ron Dennis, could retire at the end of the current season if the Woking team manages to win the title. “If I do step back, I would want to do that with a title,” the Briton would have told to Auto Motor und Sport.
The magazine also claims that Dennis is so motivated to win the 2008 title after ten years – last title for McLaren Mercedes in 1998 – that all of the team’s efforts are still towards the development of this year’s car (MP4-23), rather than on next year’s single-seater, season where Formula 1 will undergo significant regulatory changes.
