Ron Dennis, McLaren-Mercedes Team Principal, made clear that he is not planning to quit as chief of his Formula One team. The Woking-based team wrote an apology letter to the FIA last week for not realizing just how far Ferrari information had spread within their organization.

Following FIA’s technical inspection and suggestion that Ferrari secret data were being considered for the MP-23, their 2008 car, McLaren also offered a design moratorium on those developments in a bid to stave off the threat of possible penalties. Such admissions have cast question marks over the future of Ron Dennis, but speaking to the News of the World on Sunday, Dennis insisted that he will continue to be McLaren’s Formula One Team Chief.

“I’m not going to quit. That is 100 per cent. I know there are people out there who want me to retire, but I’m not. I do not think it would be in the best interests of the team”, the Briton said.
