Robert Doornbos signs deal with Renault

Robert DoornbosAccording to the Dutch publication Formula 1 Race Report, former F1 driver Robert Doornbos has signed a new deal with the Renault F1 Team to perform demonstration driving duties. The 26 year old Dutchman has dropped out the American racing series following the merger between Champ Car and IRL series. Furthermore, he signed a deal to represent the AC Milan football club in the Superleague Formula.

Another report, claims that Doornbos’ first outing in the seat of Renault’s R28 could be a one day test this Friday at Silverstone Circuit.

The Dutchman’s management, however, has denied that his contract has any connections with Nelson Piquet‘s poor perfomance.
