Pedro de la Rosa elected GPDA Chairman

Pedro de la RosaMcLaren’s test driver Pedro de la Rosa, was elected today Chairman of the ‘Grand Prix Drivers’ Association‘ (GPDA). The F1 drivers met today in Melbourne and decided to elect the Spaniard as their new Chairman, since the former Chairman, Ralf Schumacher, has moved to DTM. “The guys supported me so I am happy to get the job, said the Spaniard, explaining that one of his major priorities is to recruit as members, younger drivers such as Lewis Hamilton, and World Champion Kimi Raikkonen.

“We all have to be part of it because we are working on safety and safety is for everyone,” de la Rosa told to Reuters. The GPDA’s other Directors are Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber. The Australian, told reporters that he also hopes to recruit rookies Timo Glock and Nelson Piquet, and revealed that Sebastien Bourdais is already a member.
