Norbert Haug not expecting problems at Jerez
As a 3-day test session kicks off at Jerez in Spain today, young Briton Lewis Hamilton is set to get back on track on Spanish territory since the recently emerged racism scandal. Mercedes-Benz vice-president Norbert Haug, said this morning that he is not expecting problems with Spanish fans. “We believe that every fan will behave as they should”, Haug told the German newspaper Bild. “For us, the incident is in the past, and the vast majority of people have always behaved correctly,” he added.
Haug said also that his team hasn’t scheduled additional security and that Hamilton won’t be protected by a bodyguard. “Safety is a matter for the track operators. From our side, nothing extra is planned. But we will watch closely how the situation develops. The same is true of the FIA.”
