Monza extends F1 deal until 2016
SIAS, the company that controls the Autodromo di Monza circuit in Italy, has announced their contract extension with Formula One Management and its boss Bernie Ecclestone until 2016.
“The Italian Grand Prix will be at Monza until 2016. The extension of the contract has been signed,” said SIAS boss Claudio Vigano.
“We should be pleased with the work done so far but we must strive to ensure that the future of the Italian Grand Prix at Monza will never be threaten again,” added Monza’s Mayor Marco Mariani.
Fears that the Italian Grand Prix at Monza could be in doubt emerged in the past months, when Ecclestone announced a deal to hold a Grand Prix in Rome.
